Healthy diet for the whole family
All food outside the home is much more expensive. A meal you prepare for your child at home is not only cheaper, but also much better than fast food from a kiosk or bakery.
Minimum dietary diversity
Every family wants to provide their children with the best possible conditions for growth and development. Poor financial or housing conditions, family size or unexpected and emergency situations make it difficult to provide appropriate foods and prepare food for an infant.
Alternative methods of feeding newborns and infants
Babies who cannot suckle, temporarily or permanently, are fed in a way that best suits their needs. The choice of the most appropriate method is assessed individually, for each mother and child.
What does breastmilk contain?
There is nothing like the composition of breastmilk! Human milk is a complex living substance capable of change, which follows, supports and directs the child's development. There is no substitute for breastmilk. It contains thousands of different ingredients, and most of them ingredients cannot be artificially produced.
Flat or inverted nipples
About 10% of first-time breastfeeding women have flat or inverted nipples, which is a consequence of insufficient elasticity of the muscle tissue that raises the nipple. It is impossible to assess how the nipple will function during breastfeeding based on its appearance alone.
Early initiation of breastfeeding - breastfeeding immediately after birth
In the first hour of life, most healthy newborns instinctively move towards their mother's breast and latch spontaneously. This early breastfeeding means a healthy start for your baby!
Smoking tobacco while breastfeeding
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are the periods of your life when you should by all means try to quit smoking. If you fail, your milk is still the best food for your baby and you should breastfeed.
Temporary interruption in breastfeeding
There are very few reasons associated with maternal health that require interruption of lactation and switching to artificial feeding. It is important to ascertain whether the disease itself represents a contraindication to breastfeeding, or just makes it difficult.
Formula preparation and hygiene of utensils
If you feed your baby formula, follow the instructions for preparing and storing the formula, as well as maintaining hygiene of the utensils. The baby's immune system is not strong enough to fight infections, and milk is an ideal medium for bacteria to multiply.
Breast engorgement and clogged milk ducts
Some mothers have more milk than the baby can suckle, so they are more likely to have engorged breasts and at a higher risk of having clogged milk ducts. This is temporary, and milk "supply" and "demand" will soon balance out.
